L@@K at this gorgeous dog!

Today we went to downtown Santa Fe. We were looking for a parking place at the Flea Market when I saw a man walking with this dog. I about bailed out of the truck before DB could even get it stopped! This dog is "Sadie," and she was so sweet and friendly!!! It was the perfect start to our day!

After the Flea Market we went to the Loretto Chapel which was an AMAZING experience!!! I bought a neat figurine of a baby wrapped in an angel's wing in memory of Alison and Andrew. The Chapel was an incredibly emotional experience and I'm so glad we went there!

Then we drove to Tesuque Village NM and on to Espanola. The beautiful little homes and villages in the NM landscape was incredible.

We had a great day and are looking forward to going to Santa Fe Calvary Chapel for church tomorrow. Then we will probably leave here Monday morning and continue "northbound." :)

Santa Fe and

Santa Fe & Albuquerque Day!

Hi everyone! We are on Day 2 in Santa Fe. Yesterday we found "Rock On!" rock shop and the proprietor was a funny little flamboyant man who spoke in abbreviations..... he said, "Oh you're from SD? Like SOO FOO?" (crazy!) When I said, "Rapid City," he replied, "Ohhh Rap! Well my mom is from Breck!" He then clarified, "Breck....en....ridge," and said, "I'm originally from Minn...." I presume that's Minnesota and he's not the child of a Min Pin. hahaha.

After than interesting adventure, DB found a great Mexican restaurant and I have no idea what the name of it is, but across the street was JoAnn Fabrics and down about a mile was Hobby Lobby, so good luck if you're looking for a great Mexican dinner in Santa Fe! ha.

Today we went to another rock shop "Natural Rocks" which ended up being a low-end bead store and not an actual rock shop.

We found a Trader Joe's !! FAVORITE health food store of all time I think. At least so far! Then we took the Santa Fe RailRunner Train to Albuquerque's downtown. It was a great way to see the area's landscaping. We had pizza for supper and are now gratefully back home in the camper before tomorrow's "big adventures" !!! We're planning a morning at the Flea Market/Farmer's Market in Santa Fe and another art/craft/show & sale in Tesuque.

See you later!!! :)

Mexico, a rock shop and NEXT STOP !!!

Today we went to Mexico .... just 'cuz. We weren't there more than an hour but found it very interesting and not nearly as scary as a couple of years ago when we crossed the border near Yuma.

On the way home we stopped at a great rock shop where they had this gorgeous, huge Mastiff named Brutus! He's 2 years old and very, very sweet. I had to get a picture by the Border Fence.

Tomorrow morning we're pulling out of Deming and going to Santa Fe. Anxious to see a new place!!!! :) Adios for now!

DEMING, NM <<< The Quail are here!!!!

We arrived in Deming, NM Tuesday afternoon and are staying at 81 Palms RV Resort.

It's a nice park! DB and I walked over to the "clubhouse" or "community room" and they have a small, but very nice indoor pool, a tv room, huge laundry and enormous magazine rack/area with tons of maps on the walls and information about this area.

We found a rock shop! It's called "Red Roof Rock Shop" and is the nicest, cleanest, most well organized rock shop I've ever seen!! Very nice little white-haired lady running the show and I'm sure "someone" will be back there to shop a little more!

On the way there DB spotted a cool little Christian bookstore/coffee shop in the downtown area so I'm thinking a good plan would be for him to drop me off there ... go to his rock shops ... and come back in a few hours.

There are two "rockhound parks" here that we'll "investigate" before we leave here. It's nice enough here and there is so much to do, we may stay 3-5 days or a full week.

The town is around 16,000 but spread out all over the place, so seems big. Lots of RV'ers pulling in and pulling out. Tis the season, and it's hard to imagine we'll be "HOME HOME HOME" in a week and a half or so!!!!!

God bless you all and thank you, as always, for reading these meanderings. Love, db and peej xoxo

Anyone out there????? Hellooooooo ????

Hi everyone!

I had quit posting on the blog because I seemed to be doing double-duty between here and Facebook however I've had a few people comment that they've checked the blog and were surprised to see NOTHING and then a couple of people who are not Facebook'ers...... so I decided to "refresh" the blog page. :) Hopefully it'll be interesting enough that you'll stick around awhile!

Let's see.... I think one of the last blogs was posted shortly after my MS relapse. Two months later and I am doing GREAT and thanking God for restoring the eyesight in my right eye to almost 90-95%!!

We are currently in Benson, AZ at Butterfield RV Resort and are leaving here Monday, April 9.

Our plans are to stay a couple of nights in Deming, NM ... Deming is located in the Southwestern part of New Mexico, 33 miles North of the Mexico border, a land of an ever present sun and flowing desert rocks and cacti. Deming has been named a "Rock-Hunters Paradise." Nowwww you know the attraction of Deming! haha.

Then we're going to go up the interstate through Albuquerque to Santa Fe. I'm so anxioux to spend time there. My sister Jacque says she loves it there and I know my mom always spoke of how she, too, loved Santa Fe. So I'm anxious to snoop around the area !!! We may be there anywhere from a couple of nights to a week!

Then our plan is to travel north on I-25 through Colorado. We may stop and see new friends, Char and Randy, who we met here in Benson. They live in Allenspark which borders Estes Park. She said they recently had a BEAR on their deck looking in at them! eek!!!!

I'm still feeding the Gambel Quail. DB says they followed me here from Happy Trails RV Resort in Surprise. They've even left us a couple of eggs next to our home here! Happy Easter from the quail!!

AND Happy Easter to all of you. THANK YOU for reading!!!! Love, pj and db
